We are entering our final week at the fringe and what an exciting time it has been! I have been pineappling (festival terminology for partying hard) with the good, the bad and the ugly - fellow actors and comedians - drinking an awful lot of Crabbies Ginger Beer and succumbing to cheesy chips once too often. The show is going extremely well, the audiences are loving it every night. The critics are undecided about the play but I've been receiving lovely reviews for my performance, which you can see on my new reviews page. Hopefully this week will go just as well and we will exit with a bang (metaphorically speaking, of course). Then back to London to start new projects. Til next time xx
✳✳✳ We are number 9 in FringeReview Edinburgh's
top forty recommended shows for Theatre and Drama. Hugely exciting, so you have to come and see it now! ✳✳✳

I will be playing Nell Gwynn at this year's Edinburgh Fringe in a brilliant show called "Five Clever Courtesans" for
Cabinets of Curiosity. It's the fascinating story of some of the most seductive and powerful women in history. We'll be playing for the entire run at C Aquila (The Roman Eagle Lodge) each night at 8:50. There's a London preview for one night only on July 25th at Vibe Bar, Brick Lane at 7.30. Come early to pick up some curios at the vintage flea market and stay after the show for a burlesque cabaret. Click

SMOKESCREEN IS NOW AVAILABLE TO PLAY. I VOICE THE CHARACTER OF MELISSA.

Sorry, this is my first update in a very long time, I have been on a whirlwind of tours and have finally come home to rest. "A Christmas Carol" (which started in October) was fantastically received everywhere we went, even if it was a bit strange playing in 30°C heat! It was a little sticky in Victorian dress but all worthwhile for the sensations of the Far East, and for such fabulous venues as Raffles Hotel in Singapore and Hanoi Opera House. Then back in Europe we played to packed out houses in Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Germany, finishing in Munich which is just about the best place you can be at Christmas.
I had a couple of days with my family for the holiday and was then back in Germany to reprise my role as Miss Sophie in "Dinner for One" (details below), which included a private performance at the sumptuous NYE party of Helmut Markwort, editor of the German news magazine "Focus". It was a bit of a squeeze fitting the show into his sitting room but the audience was the glitterati of Munich (including the actress Margot Hielscher) and a real Picasso hung in my dressing room. I could get used to that...
Not long after this I began rehearsing for another production of "One Language, Many Voices" the play about colonialism and multiculturalism written by Joseph Conrad, William Somerset Maugham, Chinua Achebe and Salman Rushdie. I was fortunate to be working with an extremely talented cast and we finished each show with a Bollywood song and dance number and rapturous applause. That tour ended this week so I am very pleased to be back for a break - but hopefully not too long before my next project.
Hope you have a Happy Easter! ❀θ❀θ❀θ

More news - I am now a
Webactor!
Webactors.com provides online "presenters" for companies wanting to add a little pizzazz to their websites. They have a whole range of clients from Virgin to Essential Nails to the Garage Door Superstore! So hopefully this will lead to some interesting roles.
I have just recorded an interactive game for the Channel 4 website playing the character Melissa in "Smokescreen" and will post the link when it's available. Also this month I will be roleplaying doctor/patient scenarios at Poole Hospital for their GP training course and I will be filming a couple of sketches for Saul Marron's pilot sketch show "Wonderdog" which might just be brilliant. I am also doing a course in Le Coq with
Warhorse Theatreworks. Watch this space...

A week of Grotowski with Dawid Zakowski (former Associate director and actor of Studium Teatralne and current collaborator of Piesn Kozla, whew!). This workshop was absolutely brilliant, we learnt the basics of Grotowski's teachings and combined them with the text of Sophocles' "Oedipus", culminating in an hour long show at the end of the week. I now feel much more confident about physical performance skills, and hope to use them in my next projects.
April 09 I have just returned from a successful 3 month tour of "One Language, Many Voices" for
ADGE which played main houses in Germany and Switzerland. The play is a collection of short stories about colonialism, from writers such as Joseph Conrad, Somerset Maugham, Chinua Achebe and Salman Rushdie. My favourite role was Doris in Maugham's "A Force of Circumstance" whose world is turned upside down when her husband reveals he had a previous lover with whom he had children, and they try to stitch their lives back together. A challenging and emotional piece, it was well received by audiences. For more details click

Another season of the madcap
"Dinner For One" is finished! The British comedy which is relatively unknown in its homeland is a national obsession in Germany and Norway and is shown on television every New Year's Eve and Christmas Eve respectively. In
ADGE's version I play the 90 year old Miss Sophie for the second year running with the slapstick skills of Rick Clodfelter and Paul Flush on the piano. This year we played a beautiful ramshackle schloss near Leipzig and the company's theatre in Munich.

I have returned exhausted but happy from a 3 month tour of Oscar Wilde's "The Canterville Ghost", playing Ma Otis (a gun-toting, wise-cracking, burlesque dancing cowgal) which took me to Europe, Japan and China. Wow! just about sums it up, wonderful food, lovely audiences and fantastic sights. I can't do it justice here but I hope to return very soon...
